365th day of 2014. What can I say? 2014 has been a roller coaster year for me. To put succinctly, it was one filled with struggles and triumphs, heart wrenching moments as much as uplifting ones.
2014 saw me at one of my lowest point and that is without a doubt an understatement. For years, I was chasing after someone whom every one (except me) knew will never love me enough and will never have time for me even if he had 25 hours in a day. I'm sure that he was the best thing that ever happened to me and I wouldn't have achieved the many things that I have without him, but I'm also clearly aware that he was the very reason behind my tear stained pillows. I fell for his "I love you". In the end, it was those very 3 words that broke me. There seems to be this perverse cruelty in humanity that the one you love best, hurts you the most.
Although walking away was the toughest decision and it crushed me, it also taught me a thing or two. I've learnt that sometimes the person you'll take a bullet for is the one behind the trigger. I've learnt that it takes a hell lot more than love to make a relationship work. Someone may love you, they may even say it out loud, yet what matters most is that they go out of their way to make it obvious that they want you in their life. The biggest takeaway for me is probably impermanence; every thing is transient and will eventually pass. So this, this heart break too shall pass. And I have absolute faith that in God's rightful time, I'll find my prince.
That aside, 2014 brimmed with new opportunities which I'm extremely thankful for. I've had the pleasure of working with Love Out Loud Asia, writing monthly blogposts (I hope you've read them) about relationships. Then there's Sample Store who has been so loving to provide me with a platform to work with brands like Bio-Essence and London Weight Management. Not forgetting other collaborations with Room 290, Tirisula Yoga, 108 Yogathon, etc.
I'm grateful too for having loved ones (family and friends alike) who are ever so caring and supporting. I wouldn't have gotten through 2014 without their constant encouragement and unconditional love.
2014 might not have been the most smooth sailing year I had but it has definitely seen me grown so much with experiences, milestones and lessons learnt in abundance. Nevertheless, there's still plenty of room for growth, so I'm excited to take on the new year. I believe in Heavenly Papa and His plans to prosper me. I look forward to the many plans I have for this space in the hope that my love for writing will slowly but surely reach out to many more. I look forward to seeing old friends again in 2015, as well as, meeting new people. I look forward to finally attending my graduation during my birthday month. I look forward to seeing more of the world as I travel.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, LOVES! May 2015 bring loads of love, happiness, health, blessings, opportunities, and plenty more!

"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something.
So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make new mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you're scared of doing, do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever."
